Awana

The Awana program at First Baptist Church is a fun and exciting program for kids meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The club meets throughout the school year with exceptions for holiday weeks. Club nights are divided into three main components: Game Time, Large Group Time, and Small Group Time.

While Awana has many things to interest boys and girls, such as games and special activities, the heart of the program is Bible memory work and application. The Club handbooks contain an average of 90 verses, which have been carefully chosen in order to establish doctrinal truths. Trained volunteer leaders will use a variety of means to make learning FUN and to apply these truths to the daily experiences of the Clubber. The award system, uniforms and handbooks are primarily designed to motivate the memorization of scripture verses.

The clubs currently offered are:

Puggles: 2-year-old children (available only for Awana volunteers)

Cubbies: 3 years - Pre-Kindergarten

Sparks: Kindergarten-2nd Grade

T&T (Truth and Training): 3rd-5th grade
